寶慶竹木器工藝品廠位于湖南省西南邵陽市。該地區是全國乃至全世界產竹豐富的地方，因為地處丘陵與高原之交，地勢較高、緯度適中、夜寒日暖而特別適宜楠竹生產，又因這樣種特殊氣候和水文條件，生長的竹材，竹質結構特別緊密、細膩，適合制作各種工藝禮品和生活日用品。 寶慶竹藝、歷史悠久，譽滿全球，清代慈禧太后60壽庚時，寶慶制臺大人將邵陽藝人制作的竹簧扇，作為壽禮敬獻給太后，深得太后喜愛，并大獎制臺與該藝人。此扇現保存在故宮博物院。 1915年9月由清朝庭推薦在美國舊金山舉辦的萬國巴拿馬博覽會上，邵陽藝人制作的一對竹藝品“龍騰云戲珠海”的筆海，獲得金獎，為國增光。 1925年邵陽老藝人制作的“荷葉花瓶”再一次在萬國巴拿馬博覽會上獲銀獎。 1932年，制作的“六方大花瓶”在西湖國際博覽會上獲一等獎。 1950年斯大林70大壽，毛帶去八件邵陽竹藝品作為壽禮，深得斯大林贊賞，現保存在莫斯科博物館。 1959年7月邵陽老藝人應邀為人民大會堂湖南廳制作“瀟湘八景”掛屏載譽歸來。 Baoqing Bamboo Artware Factory is located in Shaoyang City (also known as Baoqing), which is in the southwest of Hunan Province of China. Located in the boundary area between highland and plateau with altitude advantage and appropriate latitude, the area is famous for the abundant bamboo resources in China and even in the world. Additionally, the climate here is cold at night and warm at daytime, the bamboo possesses tight and fine texture and is suitable for the production of various high-quality artware and commodities.
